It helps, but it's a moot point. Why do people think that Fisher is the answer? It seems like we are going to throw the bank at him and I don't understand why. I hope that I'm wrong about him.

Offense ranking (national) while Fisher was the OC at LSU for 7 years.

2000 #54
2001 #29 (Rohan)
2002 #75
2003 #19 (Mauck)
2004 #42
2005 #43
2006 #9 (Russell)

Average Ranking - #38.71

Nine year ranking after Fisher.

2007 #11 (Flynn)
2008 #30
2009 #77
2010 #45
2011 #17 (Lee/Jefferson)
2012 #57
2013 #27 (Mettenburger)
2014 #76
2015 #43

Average Ranking - #42.6

His resume calls for more money.

I agree but Herman isnt a guarantee.

I say the same for Fisher. He is already proven and I think he is the best long term for LSU

Because he is proven.

LSU has been lacking a passing game. Our offensive numbers look comparable because we out talent pretty much every team on the schedule, minus 1 or 2 teams, and we run the ball down their throats.

I would like to see our offensive passing statistics for all of these Miles' years. Iirc, we have been in the 100s more than once.

Fisher can develop a qb and that pretty much has been the missing piece for the better part of 10 years.

You throw the bank at Fisher because its do or die right now

You reference his FSU record and Miles record. Why not show his 7 year offense at FSU side by side with LSU?

I thought what I showed was enough to make my point. Feel free to show something that makes me feel better about him. I just want what is best for LSU.

Fisher's offense at FSU side by side with LSU same time period? Fisher's offense at LSU is nice to remember and reference but is apples and oranges.

Me too, brother. Herman or Jimbo are home runs and anything less would be a let down.

Known facts about Sexton.

1. He is a prick
2. He is trying to gouge LSU.
3. If Jimbo is hired, Sexton will continue to gouge LSU.
4. LSU is much better off without a Jimmy Sexton client coaching at LSU.

I remember when NS was coaching here. Every year at this time Sexton was trolling LSU. When NS left I was glad he was gone. This year end trolling shite gets old. In many ways Im sure FSU maybe happy if JF leaves.
I remember a story that Skip told NS to leave because he was tired of the constant bullshite he and Sexton were constantly pulling.

Isnt his buyout 5 million?

Yes, we will have to pay the buyout. I was saying that he will have a ridiculous salary and a ridiculous buyout with LSU, if he comes. His buyout will probably make it impossible to get rid of him until his contract is up.

This is a longterm hire. The guy is proven. He is the best known option out there.

The prices right now are ridiculous for coaches of his level. We cant get cheap now.

Him and Herman will be great hires. Fwiw, I want the best for LSU also. I just think it is going to cost a lot of money.

I'm wondering if Sexton doesn't want Fisher at LSU, maybe feeling he has enoungh SEC coaches in the fold. Out pricing LSU and keeping clients in separate leagues, plus getting A Raise in pay for Jimbo.

I could be wrong, but you never know how he might feel about it.

It's a Win for his Client either way ..

In what way? Do you think that he has faced better Defenses in the ACC? With just a decent QB, he is a 2-3 loss team in the ACC...what do you think FSU would do in the SEC?

I think you are overthinking it. If Sexton cared about anything he would probably want MORE of his clients in SEC, a conference obsessed with winning football and willing to pay obscene money to get results from top tier HCs. He has enough clients to place throughout CFB where if he wanted wide distribution he could get it without wanting one less in a particular conference.

How is he proven? Miles won a national title too, while having to play in the SEC. Trust me, I'm not a Miles fan, I'm just saying.

Is that really that crazy?

If Miles goes and gets a job, his buyout will be greatly decreased. Jimbo at 5 million is nothing imo. Look at what teams are spending and getting more than us the past few years.

Lets say that Miles gets hired and we pay the 5 million buyout. We didnt do anything completely crazy

For Saban, no.

What about Fisher's resume' makes him better than Miles?

Since Fisher got to FSU:

Miles-1 sec title and national champ appearance. No other major bowls or even division titles

Jimbo-3 acc titles. 1 national champ(beat the sec). Orange and Rose bowl(playoff) appearances.

Not to mention how many proven quarterbacks Fisher has had a hand in.

Miles won a ton of games on superior talent and defense. Miles was too stubborn and his ego was way too big to compete for another SEC title.

You're only using points per game, which is a wholly misleading stat.

You want to compare the special teams / athletes of '00 - '06 against '07 - '16?

Try doing yards / game and see what you come up with. Hint: Jimbo > No Jimbo

Wrong.

In 2007 LSU/Miles won the national championship, the year after Fisher left for FSU. LSU played for the national championship again in 2011.
