It sounds like he wouldn't be the best cultural fit here though.
O was the perfect cultural fit, and we see how that turned out.
You think Saban was a good "cultural fit" for Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
It doesn't mean a thing.

Would be happy with any of these 3 than anyone else mentioned including Riley.

Talking about from a recruiting standpoint. It's well documented that Campbell doesn't like fighting over big name recruits. He likes taking 2-3 star players and coaching them up well. That won't fly in BR.

I have to say, it would be nice to have an intelligent coach

He's built Iowa State, one of the worst schools in CFB history, into a pretty respectable team in the B12. He's a great coach.
Lol, sounds like the terrible Dinardo argument from 30 years ago. Dude is mediocre AF.

Please explain who the frick you’re calling swamp trash? Because that could describe a MASSIVE portion of the fan base.

He's at Iowa State.
You CAN'T fight over big-name recruits at Iowa State. The only ones even remotely interested would be in-state kids, and even then you're going to struggle.
At Iowa State you have no choice but to take underrated kids and try to develop them. Doing that consistently enough to get to bowl games is a strength, not a weakness.
If Matt Campbell means more Corey Websters and Foster Moreaus and less Eli Rickses and Arik Gilberts it's a POSITIVE, not a negative.
