Growing up in the '90s there was never a chance a coach would leave ND for LSU

ND in the '80s and '90s had this lore to them. Maybe even before that but I was a kid and teenager in those decades respectively and I just remember ND and Miami being the two biggest football schools on the planet. Starter made a mint off of ND and Miami jackets.

This is sweet revenge for them keeping us out of the Sugar Bowl back in the day when Notre Dame decided to accept their first bowl bid

Understandable. It's interesting how those standards may be what has kept them from being a championship school since 1988

Gerry DiNardo had a Notre Dame clause in his contract when he was at LSU. How times have changed.

Yea bad choice of words on my part. I was just speaking from my personal experience of growing up with ND football on NBC every Saturday no matter what and everyone I knew idolized them.
