Locksley and Zook

Locksley got some great recruits while he was at Maryland and obviously has done well at Bama. He did not sign anyone above a 3 star at Illinois.

Zook's comments about Illinois:

quote:

"You know, Illinois' a job, that it didn't matter who's there. Put Nick Saban there, and it didn't matter. It's just that those are hard jobs, that, you know, it's a grind every day, it's a grind every day," Zook added. "And the attitude is, you know the people ... (it's) never" going to change.

I would imagine that translates to recruiting as well at Illinois.

Is this a good hire? Serious question.

he has many years' experience in the NFL at that same position, but most here will shite on him.

To me this staff looks like they will be concentrating on the fundamentals. I hope that LSU executes the fundamentals better than their opponents do. That will get us 10 wins a season. Then a few wrinkles added in and you just might pull a title out of the hat.

10 years NFL experience......

Recruiting prowess is a legitimate question though.

He(they) don’t have a clue they just want to be negative about everything. It’s pathetic.

This.

I'll wait and see what the on field performance looks like.

I did that this year and the 9-4 leave questions in my mind. Questions that need to be answered.

He was bad, really bad as a special teams coach in New Orleans but New Orleans had poor special teams talent due to their roster being top heavy & all the poor drafts which is normally the core to special teams.

Lack of talent will not be a problem here so hopefully he does better.

Yet another promotion hire?? He was already listed on the LSU site as Analyst - Special Teams under the FOOTBALL - COACHING ADMINISTRATIVE AIDS section.

For better or worse, they jumped the gun by making Pork Chop the OLB coach last year, expecting to get approval on another coaching slot for a STC (it would have been McMahon last year). When that fell through, they used him as an analyst and the slot was approved for next season. So, it's not really a promotion, he would have gotten the job last year, basically.

Probably intended to be a negative but isn’t this actually a positive thing. Better to have someone that will fit in with the staff and work well with them than have someone that doesn’t.

Oh yes, they will work well together in dragging the LSU football program to the bottom of the Atlantic. They all share a level of incompetence that is rare to see assembled in one place.

Ambush says hi. Also Hartley nails 3 FG's over 40 in a super bowl. The Saints sucked after 2009 because of bad personnel decisions.

You're delusional if you think Ambush was anything other than Payton's call. It's documented in his book.

And going by that logic, Peveto is the genius behind all of LSU's fakes over the years.

You don't need elite talent to successfully block the rushers on extra point attempts.
