What changed from Saturday to last night? Damn...basically dominated a good Bama team and then get absolutely woodshedded by an avg to decent Arky team...

Saturday was just lucky as shite. Hilarious, but lucky.
Martin lost a ton from last year, but the dude went out and grabbed 3 transfers, all start for us, all 3 are end of the bench players for most top 75 teams.
He has one frosh who is good, but 3 other frosh who are awful.
So the future doesn't even look good.

I get that he is from St. Louis and had some success at Missouri St, but I never really understood the hire. He wasn't great at Tennessee, the left in a huff after his best season because the "racist" Tennessee fans/admin didn't appreciate the unexpected Sweet 16 run. He brought in some good players to Cal...but did very little with that talent.
I know the program was a giant pile of shite under Kim Anderson, but Missouri, historically, has been a solid program. You would have thought they could have gotten someone better than Martin whose career can be be described as unremarkable.
When Missouri entered the SEC the thought was that they didn't bring much to the table on the football side. But their presence would improve the basketball standing of the conference. As it stands, the football program hasn't been THAT bad, while the basketball program appears to be being lapped by the other SEC programs.

Kim Anderson was so bad that at the time, Martin was a massive upgrade.
Speaking of racism , there’s an on going rumor that the only white player he’s ever even glanced at, Parker Braun, was only recruited to show players examples of white privilege. At the time I was no effing way, but more people point out how he only cares about kids with bad backgrounds, and how to he needs to be father figures etc it sorta makes sense.
His coaching way is also so backwards. There’s numerous games where our offense scored like 50, lost by 20+ and he was happy after bc “the team showed hustle on lose balls”. He literally thinks scoring is the least important thing. This has been true 4 years running now
