The pro briles people are in 2 camps:
1) they don't care if he did it or not. They put winning above all else.
2) they have read the case/facts and say Briles is innocent and the school is the only people who should be at fault. Basically he was a pawn, and too dumb to realize what was going on.
I don't approve of it/agree with them, but at this point you will never change their minds. Best to just ignore these folks. Neither Briles will be here next year anyway.

Briles didn't sexually assault those girls. Hey idiot, using your logic you should condemn the entire university, the NCAA, the city of Waco and the state of Texas.

He lost the Broyles award. Baylor fans want nothing to do with him.

He has done nothing criminally wrong and was fired by the university. Whether he did enough is debatable but the fact of the matter is, he was punished by his employer with termination. It's time to move on and sooner or later the "Mean Girls" clique will soften and somebody will hire him. Hmm...there are a couple of former HCs that have had the black cloud hang over them but that didn't stop them from getting hired.

That would be something considering Lashlee is Gus' boy. Rhett was his HS QB at Springdale and has only worked for Gus. I highly doubt that Gus brings in Art Briles. Now, AU boosters might want Art there just in case they need him.

I get that. I just don't want a guy who caused that much trouble associated with lsu.

Under allegations of rape cover up? Who was that?
I honestly don't think either briles will be employed here next year so I'm not going to sweat it anymore.
Lil briles is currently under investigation by the NCAA for recruiting violations and big Briles is a walking toxic waste dump (at least from a pr perspective).
I am still not sure, but do you know if the NCAA could still investigate him personally? I know they said they won't sanction Baylor like they did penn state, but i dont think their investigation is actually closed. I could be wrong about that, though.
Seems like the risk/trouble/liability is too high, at this time, for LSU. He MAY get another job next year, but i really don't see him getting anything before then as this Baylor ordeal hasn't even fully unfolded, to my knowledge. Could you imagine the blowback if we hired him, new evidence comes to light damning him, and he is on the LSU staff? Then LSU is hurt in the process. The timing of a Briles hire just makes no sense to me. If we need an OC one year from now and his name is cleared i could see it as a real possibility.

Whether he was charged, fired, etc. doesn't matter. The fact that he knew about it and did nothing makes him implicit.
I stand by my statement. frick you, and frick him.

I'm guessing (hoping, really) that your thought would be different if you had any personal connection - like a daughter, niece, etc - to one of the victims.

Some of our fan base is very passionate about Briles. All you have to say is "it's not likely he will be hired due to his history." And you get downvotes
I would like to at least let all the court cases and investigations settle before even thinking about him.

There is a reason that Baylor settled Briles lawsuit against them in less than 24 hrs. But, I would not let details get in the way of your "tough guy, dad" stance regarding the total lack of university control over widespread sexual assaults across their campus.

Well of course my thoughts would be different. However, I do not know them and I'm not privy to every little detail of every incident that took place on or nearby their Waco campus. I am pretty objective and feel fairly certain that, based on what I've seen, the incidents at Baylor were much bigger than Briles lack of handling players and punishing them.
Some of these incidents stemmed from other athletes not under Briles and incidents not directly reported to him. I'm not even remotely tolerant that Briles did everything that he possibly could but, that neither means more guilt than he has admitted. His punishment was just but may require him to be black-balled for a while longer.
These incidents and how they were handled, or the lack of, by the Baylor administration are eerily similar to the Penn St. pedderass case.

Not a good analogy for Briles. That would make him Paterno.

Art briles didn't sexually assault or rape anyone. And people don't know whether he was the scape goat for the higher ups or not. All of Baylor was and is toxic. They still have female students coming out and saying stuff that has happened outside of football. I believe in second chances. And if you re read the title I would bring in Kendal Briles... or Art. Kendal wasn't the head coach and had no affiliation. Why run a family's name through the gutter based on unproven guilt. I separate his past from what he is today. I see a damn good football coach and would give the man a chance.
