Yeah I'm pretty sure Mike Hamilton called him a year later when Kiffin left and Patterson told him to frick off

Well, if you believe Chris Landry, Patterson had interest in the LSU job. However, once Herman decided he wanted to listen to Texas, Alleva rushed O to the podium to make sure no one else would hire him as their HC.

Unless he's just ready to get out of Ft. Worth, Patterson has a good gig at TCU. They are in the Big 12 now and can compete for national tiles without the crushing expectations of SEC fans

I'm really glad LSU wasn't mentioned. Would break my heart to think we turned GP away.

I heard the other day that USC head coaches have to do a black tie event for boosters and VIPs the Thursday or Friday before every home game. Elegance, professionalism, and sociability is front and center nowadays.

Used to be you wanted the ugliest, meanest, arse-kicking tough guy to whip your players into shape and win football games.

SEC still has some of those people. Look at Eaux Saban and Muschamp. All want to go out and beat your arse on Saturday and couldnt care less about a black tie event

I'm not entirely convinced Orgeron even owns a black tie

Not sure what you’re talking about. Saban is magic at those type of events.

He may be good at them, but I guarantee he doesn't really care about them. All about beating the other team on Saturday

And Orgeron kissed so much arse during his time as interim coach at LSU that his burps still smell like shite.

Because it's not really about football, it's about money
