Aren't you a coach? Are you a better coach than Bustle? Why would you get on a message board and talk trash about someone in your profession. I'm no Bustle fan, but you must be great at coaching. Have you ever been a D1 head coach?

I see a common theme is developing.

Under your line of thought, would I have to be an economist to know the economy sucks?

Sorry if I don't feel bad for someone getting fired who made hundreds of thousands of dollars that is guaranteed to get another job that will also pay him more than enough to support his family. Sucks his kids have to move around though.

Joe Joe Joe, I'm on your side dude. Nothing is funnier than someone else losing his job. I mean that's high comedy there. It's especially funny if the guy who loses his job makes about 20X more than you ever will.

Why should I feel bad for Crowton? He made $500,000 this year after turning out offenses ranked in the 100s in back to back years at LSU. Admittedly, his 2007 season was a very good one. Does that mean we should glorify him?

So, yes, I find great humor in the fact that not only did Maryland decide to pay him $500,000 a year based on a good 2007 season and a good 1997 season at La. Tech, but it only took them 1 year to figure out he was a flake. I also find it funny that he'll likely find another job within the year even considering his previous production.

I'm struggling to come up with reasons to feel bad for him. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that a grown man needs some kind of sympathy for being bad at his job.

Man, it sure is disappointing to find out that my income ceiling will be $25,000 a year.

If you get a job, that is.

So why now is it funnny again? No one is glorifying him. Why do you feel so personally involved to vilify him? Precisely what has he done on an inividual level to you?

I'm right there with ya man. Just because the man made a bundle due to the system doesn't give one the right to rag on his misfortune.

I hope he finds something quick and does well.

Ah, yes. Fingers crossed that my application at McDonald's gets through.

I'm not faulting him for making money. I'm all for it and more power to him for capitalizing on it. That doesn't change the fact that his job performance, his salary, and Maryland's actions are all laughable.

If you're getting paid $500,000 a year to put out the pathetic offenses he has in the past 4 years, then criticism is fair game. Forgive me for not handling Crowton and his firing with kiddie gloves. If you are in any job making that kind of money, criticism and high expectations should be expected.

He probably will find something. I find that part incredibly humorous, too, considering his previous performance. Says a lot about the coaching industry.

Isn't Crowton on Saban's short list to be OC of the Tide?

I don't think its funny to laugh at another mans or womens misfortune, but it's also hard to feel bad for a man or women who made in one year what It would take me about 7 years to make.

Just for stats sake. Maryland did have the #68 total offense in college football compared to #75 by LSU. Maryland was also #77 in passing yards compared to LSU at #106. Maryland was also #44 in rushing. Maryland's passing & total offensive rankings this year are considerably better than what LSU's were last year.

If you actually take a closer look at Maryland it looks as if their defense was God awful this season. #103 in the country in Scoring Defense, #108 in total defense, #110 in rushing defense & #74 in passing defense. Looks to me like the defense was way more of a problem than the offense. Hard to beat teams when your defense is getting skull drug week in and week out.
