Shouldn't schools look at 4-5 year deals south of $10 mil in the NIL era?

What are Joey McGuire and Mario without huge NIL backing?

As long as the portal is the wild west I don't see the point of investing huge money in a head coach

only way that would work is if EVERY School did it at same time.
but there isn't really a way to do that without ending up in court for collusion.

as long as there's a couple out there willing to spend more for longer, that's what the market will dictate.

Exactly. Without NIL Indiana and Ole Miss are still Indiana and Ole miss. Coaches mean less than they ever have.

And with bad coaching you end up like A&M under Jimbo or LSU under Kelly. You still have to have a good coach to win and good coaches are still going to make a lot of money

If you do a long term deal now, if you don't win a natty within 4 years your best outcome is the coach screws up and you can fire him with cause
