LSU had no shortage of running backs to replace him. Get Lacy or Sheppard. Texas will also have a few 5 stars he’s competing with.

So get top tier RB recruit only for him to play like a 1* in years 2 and on?

No thanks. I'd rather give up Nola recruits and get competent coaching and development.

Wilson is exactly one of the biggest issues of the Kelly era. Can't coach for shite, but is supposedly a great recruiter. It takes talent to coach down RBs, seeing as it is the easiest position to translate to from HS to college. Frank does it, though, and people stupid enough to buy his propaganda from these families really show the issue with Louisiana.

Berry is not irreplaceable and while he showed flashes, so did Durham last year, and we see what we got out of him in year two with Wilson as coach. See what you got with Kaleb Jackson who has regressed each year from the previous one under Frank.

FW has nothing on LK that LK and LSU can't contend with....appreciate his contributions to LSU but it may be time to part ways.

Our RB room has been decimated and the one's we have aren't developing. He's getting paid a ton of money and not even closing on some of his biggest targets. Would rather have someone who knows how to coach up the position. I don't think LSU needs Frank.

His running backs have lapped our running backs for the last 6 years.

What exactly makes a good RB coach?

Should we bring back Tommie Robinson since Clyde Edwards-Helaire was so great in 2019? Scheme and OL makes good RBs. Period.

Kiffin will and should build the staff he wants. There are no sacred cows and if he doesn’t want Wilson, fine. But don’t sit here and say he won’t be a pain in the arse if he’s somewhere else, especially Texas.

I’m not going to melt but Wilson at lsu does hold value and it’s something Kiffin will have to overcome.

Coaches that stay in college long term aren't wired like normal people

With the Berrys, Wilson matters. They did an interview recently and made it very clear they are on the Wilson Bandwagon. Do not be surprised if Wilson leaves Berry is right behind him.

LSU has yet to have a RB hit 800 yards rushing in a season under Wilson:

2022 - Williams - 532 yards
2023 - Diggs - 653 yards
2024 - Durham - 753 yards
2025 - Durham - 505 yards

He straight sucks so bad as a coach, players get worse with his coaching unless they are all world talents.

Shhhh... don't you know he is the only way to keep all NOLA recruits at LSU?

personally, and yes, i know he's not a great RB coach, but i'd rather have him than not... i'd figure out a way to keep him, if possible

If having him ruins an entire unit annually, he is absolutely not worth it. He can stay on in an admin role, but has no business as a coach, and never did have any business as a coach.

Unfortunately at the rb position, we have issues with development and recruiting. Until this is resolved we’re in a world of shite.

I think you’re exaggerating

If LSU is winning and the NIL packages are the same we will win that battle 9/10. Frank may be able to get his foot in the door but at the end of the day, most of the kids he’s recruiting won’t even be coached by him, so you’re really overrating his reach

Tommie Robinson had a hell of a run with LSU running game and A&M running game. It wasn't just one RB, but you seem to forget Achane developing at A&M under him too.

Anyways, you actually CEH develop each year. You see exaclty the opposite with every single running back the last 4 years with Wilson. He sucks.

If his production at Texas matches what he has done at LSU the last several years, I would be more than happy. It means their running game has gone to shite and they maybe take one extra recruit a year from LSU. No single recruit is worth the damage his coaching does. This is not just from this run with LSU too. His previous run looked similar.

His only RB at Ole Miss worth a shite was BenJarvis Green-Ellis who was a RS JR and RS SR transfer that matched what he had done at Indiana as a true freshman and sophomore. He didn't become significantly better under Wilson.

Reality is that he's a net negative to this team as a coach, and if he only is willing to take that position, he should go kick rocks and ruin someone else's running attack.

I’m pretty certain Lane Kiffin/Blake Baker and staff will do just fine with or without Wilson. LSU has won 3 national titles without Frank on staff. It’ll be ok.

I don’t disagree, but I also would include that the RB coach should have an affect on that, too.

He’s been here through multiple OL coaches and OCs, so what exactly is his input here? The RB room has struggled since his return over multiple position coaches changes.

The talent evaluation has not been great, either. You’ve had to revert to a walk on at times, and a guy like Logan Diggs who lsu did not offer out of high school.

This year you have the states best RB in last cycle tearing it up at Duke, and the RB you identified over him (who wasn’t as good) catches a gun charge. It’s not a great look.
