Yeah, Fran is an exceptional recruiter and should do well up here in the Northeast, particularly NJ, where he is from and what used to be fertile recruiting ground for Syracuse. Pull talented kids back to Cuse instead of letting them get poached by Pitt, Rutgers, Maryland, etc., and he'll be in business. Plus I expect he will have some success with portal players.

It is now official, Fran Brown is the new Syracuse coach.

Think it's a better hire than Mullen would have been.

He may have a higher ceiling, and if he sucks, it'll be a lot less expensive than potentially sucking under Mullen.

Here's the talent developer model (Mullen at State). Find a raw 2 or 3 star with potential. Train him and and get him some experience the first year. Play him a lot his second year and start to perfect his craft. His third year will be huge and he be drafted after that.

Now, if that player shows promise in year two, he's off to the biggest NIL with his one free transfer. In big time CFB, you'd just be developing talent for the top 5-10 programs, you don't get that third year where a Fletcher Cox or Jeffery Simmons balls out for State, cause they'd be a Bama or UGA..
