This is how I know its not a lateral move.
In the past two decades, Auburn has had TWO perfect seasons, and does not have a MNC to show for it (Yes, I realize the first time around they were under sanctions).
You REALLY think that LSU would go 14-0 and not at least be in the MNC BCS title game?

Maybe he can help with the buyout?
Really. I think Tubby would do great in BR and rumors have been that he wants the job but that 6 mil buyout is in the way.

What's your point?
6 mil. buyout, another 2-3 mil. a year.
Mark Emmert is no longer at LSU. Even he wouldn't spend that much.

Tubbs has already said he will stay at Auburn for as long as they (Auburn) will have him.

But John Lombardi may...you never know. He was very active in 'raising money in order to spend money' philosophy in order to advance the university while he was at UF in the '90's.

He also said "you are gonna have to take me out of Mississippi in a pine box."

Does LSU have a booster like Lowder?
Booster, some just call him a cancer at Barn.

I never said it would happen, I just passed along what someone who knows more about football than you and I ever will said.

He like most has an opinion, he has that right.
Do you remember how Nick got here?

TAF has plenty of money.
If Les Miles leaves and LSU and TAF wants Tubby, TAF can fund it.
Hell, I would make a donation to that fudn raiser.
Tubby is the best available, Spurrier second, if Les leaves.

You think LSU would have gotten shut out of the MNC game if they would have gone 14-0?
that year, no, because we were the defending national champions, but we would have in '05.
The LSU job is better than the Auburn job, not much arguing that, but is it that much better that he'd want to uproot his family and start completely over in another city? I don't know.

a Tommy Tuberville that had the Auburn AD flying in Bobby Petrino behind his back, so that the could go to a place where its naturally easier to recruit and make his 'final coaching place'?
IMO, in a heartbeat.

yeah, that move by the Auburn admin may make the move easier. By the way, I'd love ol' TT.

He's the best option, IMO, Then Spurrier, Then Tedford.
hey, if you can take a historically ZERO Cal program to decent respectability in year after year in the PAC-10 with horrible facilities....you're doing something right...

I think the fans will realize that cigars or not...TT's one of those guys that you hated only because he was on the opposing sidelines (And you secretly respect him) and would want him on 'your side' any day of the week.

6 mil. buyout?
LSU is not going to pay $6 mil on a buyout and then another 3 plus mil on the first year salary.

I could give 2 shits about the cigars, and have always respected him, even though I hated his guts at times.

The fact that is a reality that we will need a new coach gives clarity, and when previously you thought "HELL NO!", you now think, "Hell, he's an incredible coach and would do well here." From all I know he's run a reasonably clean program, and his teams are well coached, he calls time outs at the right time, and he knows how to get a play in the game timely.

I hope he stays at Auburn.
1. He's a classless jerk. We already have one......Brady.............do we really need another one.
2. Every year he wins games he shoudln't (Florida) and loses games he should win (USF).
3. And he can't be very bright. How do you have a QB that sucks, like Brandon Cox, and in the 5 years Cox has been there you can't recruit another decent QB.
