They knew the cost of his buyout and his future contract with us. They have known this for a fricking while now. They aren't going to fire their most successful coach and pay him $10 million to not coach us just to hire a fricking Orgeron, Fedora, Gundy, or some mediocre to average coach. It's Jimbo or bust and that's the way it should be. Give this man as much money as he needs as it should be no issue whatsoever.

the good thing is that TV announcers never really talk about what coaches get paid. Because we are going to look like such chumps making Fisher one of the 2 or 3 highest paid coaches in college football and we wind up in the middle of the pack of the SEC west. If he gets the job he better get us in the playoffs pretty quickly. Not going to be a lot of honeymoon period.
At least with Orgeron we don't look like such chumps. He has already proven he can do better than Miles and probably would get paid a good bit less of a salary than Miles.
If Texas keeps Strong, we could probably get Herman (or Fleck, but no chance we do that) at an average SEC head coach salary and he could possibly have Saban like upside or maybe be a bust. If hew does have success, his salary could go up to match his success.
But with Fisher, right out the gate he will be getting paid like a coach that better bring in some titles.

How has he proven he can do better than miles? Miles played 3 of the hardest 4 teams on the schedule.

Good post Boxcar. That's the issue with Fisher......He can't get it done in the fricken ACC with a loaded deck, yet the Fisher fan boys think he's gonna come in here and beat Saban on a yearly basis??

First, he has proven to be better by the way the offense has played since he took over. it is greatly improved.
Second, he has proven to be better by the way the defense has played since he took over. It is improved
Thirdly, by the way special teams have played, also greatly improved.
Overall the team has improved greatly since Orgeron took over, however two more huge tests stand in front of him. The first one this Saturday and the following one on Thanksgiving day.

Hell no. Get coach o. Tell Jimbo to take a hike.

Plus Jimbo said he would keep Aranda.
So with Jimbo and Aranda. That NC coming home to Baton Rouge

The offense has looked the same against the one time that could stop our rushing attack.

This is Aranda. You know the guy who was Coach O's Boss until a couple of weeks ago.

Special teams have looked awful all year. We still have White back there returning punts and he has looked shaky all year

Yeah Huge Tests

Have you been watching White this season?? I can't tell?? SP teams has looked fine, White had a terrible game last Saturday, shite happens, but he has played brilliantly all season, especially on defense. He screwed up fielding the ball this game, but has been solid fielding the ball most of the season with some nice returns, going backwards on one almost to the goal line before turning it around and going up field through the defense and almost broke it. Also, he has fielded the ball solidly inside the 20 yard line before this Saturday.

Have you been watching the games? Hes had so many questionable fair catches and not fair catches

If the money is there, why hold it?
We have a coach with a NC and playoff appearance in the last 4 years that is clearly interested and you want to pinch pennies?

Yeah, we don't want a NC coach, we want the guy that has never successfully run a program, because he beat a bunch of bottom dwellers in the SEC and he talks like a coonass.

No one on this board is in charge of the LSU athletic budget.
Actually the the season ticket holders and single game ticket buyers on this board should have a say because the cost will go directly to them when there taf charges go up and also when ticket prices go up to cover the cost of the salaries of the new coaches and trust me they will go up eminsely.
