I saw the post count was on 18, and I hate making the last post on a page, so I was waiting for post 19 so that I could make the next post and be at the top of page two.
I had this exact story copied and ready to paste.
Point is, Les does this kind of stuff for pure reasons. He didn't invite news cameras around to "improve his image", he did this quietly and wasn't asking for the story to get out.

That Outside the Lines hatchet job on Miles about over-signing was total BS. Miles is one of the most honest guys to high school recruits out there.
replayed that on ESPN radio last night, the episode with Chris Garrett?

Honestly he is a great person to represent our/your school. The guy is a class act and has not embarrassed himself or lsu in anyway. He seems to do things the right way not the easy way.

hearing that makes me like the guy even more than I already do. Thanks for sharing!

Ive always had a dislike for OSU and an indifference to UM. I'll be a UM fan if this happens...
The UM posters on here seem like good guys, but don't let that fool you about the majority of the UM fanbase. Right now they're tolerable b/c they haven't been relevant for a few years. But just like Bama after they got Saban, the entitlement runs rampant amongst that group. Yes, even moreso than tOSU.

And I just had that one because it was recent. I remember stuff like him going to Iraq and hanging out with soldiers a few years ago.

I have to tell you. I hear this a lot that the UofM fanbase is arrogant, and maybe its true, but everywhere I've been, and I've been a lot of places in this world, whenever I wear Michigan gear, I almost ALWAYS have someone try to pick a garbage fight with me. I don't do anything, just walk down the street with an M shirt on, bam, stupid arse comment to try and get me to argue back. Generally I ignore it, unless I'm in bitch mode that day lol.

Following a LSU football game earlier this year, about 4-6 teenagers were killed in a car wreck driving back home. I think Les Miles also did something for the families of those teens as well.
Les has always been class towards the fan base, reporters, and opponents (except the R-kansas comment and the time he got fired up at the Recruiting bash and challenged Alabama). I will admit that he publically treats our fan base better than we treat him.
99% of LSU fans can defend Miles' character, but his gameday coaching/philosophy is always debated.

Even the vast majority of the anti-Miles contingent on this board would not question his character. Issues with Miles have always been about coaching.

There have been a few people trying to defend him on there, say it's whats done in the SEC in terms of recruiting, you better have no skeletons in your closet to be calling someone out like that, blah blah blah. Falls on deaf ears. I know a lot of them come to this site, I hope they are reading all of this and it changes their minds about him.

Chris Garrett sucked and got cut. End of story
not really. he transferred to NW St., rode the pine as 3rd string, now he's with Hootie at OM.
the end.

Maybe you guys should create some accounts over on there and reassure these posters that Miles is a great guy and everything will be alright if he comes to Michigan

In the SEC, you gotta do what your competition does when you are dealing with high level athletes.

Les is a good man, and basically a clone of his mentor Bo. I think what you get with Miles is what you would've had with Bo. Good-hearted, caring, and a father figure. I don't know if you'll win an NC under Miles, but he'll keep you in the hunt for Big Ten titles and always make the UM-tOSU game a real rivalry game.
Even in LSU's down years with him, his teams have kept games close against their bitter rivals with one exception in 2008 (UF). Otherwise, every rivalry game has been a tough, close battle.
Overall, Les would be a great fit for what UM stands for if they are willing to give him the money to pay his assistants.

You would be wrong there.
Attend a game in AA, then one in C-bus.
Our culture is a laid back one(remember the no noise at our games thing?). Yes we are spoiled, and we expect to win. That said, we dont have to go around spouting to others...we just know.
That is totally different than OSU thuggery. The last several yrs should of shown what the poison nuts are all about.

Oversigning isn't that bad of a sin, and those who think it is have short memories or are very young. Back in the day, before the recruting bonanza we have today it was common for large schools to sign a kid just to keep someone else from having him, with no real desire to every use the kid.

I've got some concerns about the coaching ability of Les Miles.
But Les Miles is one of the best men I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is, WITHOUT QUESTION, a family man who values honesty, integrity, and loyalty. He has done nothing but show his true stirling character throughout his time in Baton Rouge. The OTL piece was an absolute witch hunt, and it's an embarrassment to journalism that they chose Les Miles to villify in that piece.
Like I said, I'm not Les Miles' biggest fan. But he is a hell of a man, and after Katrina and all the years since, I'd stick my neck out for him any day of the week.
