And then follow up with a line like, "sorry, I can't say anything more right now," while clearly implying they know more, doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Do they realize this?

If you're really on the "inside" and privy to "confidential" information, do you think your duty to keep things confidential doesn't apply to leaking out a "little" information, but only to leaking all of it.

I wouldn't mind if they started banning people that did this. Either put up or shut up.

I kind of agree, but when they say too much they run the possibility of being identified.

Anytime someone with "Scoop" decides to spill it, they are taking a huge risk. Does anyone expect them to say, "when I answered Coach Miles call from the UM AD yesterday"...or "I am drawing up the buyout for Crowton for my boss" ??????

Leaking any info is grounds for dismissal, so I always believe that info is second hand at best... Neighbor, cousin, spouse, drinking buddy...but rarely do I consider a poster to be the top dog. Even Belowpar is a second hand info person IMO.

I find it humorous how the rise of insiders directly coincides with the end of season/coaching changes arises.
