I think Florida is going to be very happy with Dan Mullen. Great hire, imo.

UT has 0 shot st Fuente right now. He has a great setup at VA Tech and isn’t leaving it for an athletic dept in disarray.

Why would Fuente leave VT? It is a better job in every category than UT.

It’s not a bad job, but UT is much better.

Why would Fuente want anything that is that shite show in Tennessee, they are now a complete dumpster fire. I never thought I'd see a AD frick up worse than Alleva

Other than the fact Tenn. would be willing to pay more, how so?

It's not as if he MUST be at Tenn. to compete for national tiles. He can do that at VT. Is recruiting to UT significantly easier/harder than doing so at Va Tech? Is winning at Tenn. significantly easier/harder than doing so at Va Tech?

Va Tech plays in arguably the "easier" of the two ACC divisions. It's been shown that winning the ACC = playoffs, so it's not like the SEC gives him a better shot at ultimate success. Plus, he went 9-3 this season. If he took the Tenn. job then he is going to have to rebuild a program in disarray and quickly get them to the EXPECTATION level of the fanbase, which is SEC Champs or hit the road. And all of that isn't even considering the mess that is the Tennessee Ath. Dept. right now.

If he were still at Memphis I'd say go for it. But why leave a good situation at Va. Tech to jump into that mess?

ACC. Better in state recruiting. Best football program in VA. Better school. Amazing admin support. He basically has a lifetime job for him and his assistants.

Fuente didn't vet Carolina was open two years ago. Dude doesn't like to 'croot. He also wanted nothing to do with the pressure cooker of the SEC.

He'd be a poor fit for UTK.

I don’t the jump up from VT to Tennessee is big enough for Fuente to actually make the move .
