Both good offensive coaches, Fisher has a lot better defense.

Jimbo isn’t going to frick you as much as you keep pushing him

Fisher doesn’t coach defense and neither does Riley. Riley is a way better offensive coach and overall coach than Fisher. Fisher had the 1 Natty with that loaded FSU team. Riley is consistently better

Wow. Might want to review Records and recent CFP appearances.
I like jimbo , but he’s not in the same stratosphere.

No question Riley is a better OC, but I might see your point to some degree.
Here’s what we do know; Jimbo clearly understands that defense is important, Riley clearly either doesn’t agree to the same extent or can’t get a reputable DC to come there.
I think there’s no question that having Riley teamed up with a solid DC, sound familiar, would propel this program to all new heights consistently.
My only concern with Riley as a HC is why hasn’t he figured this out yet? Clearly a great defense isn’t needed in their conference, but each time he reaches the playoffs he is immediately reminded that to beat the big boys you have to have a defense too. Him not having such seems illogical to me.
I would rather have Riley over Jimbo, but not if Riley doesn’t understand that coming to the SEC without a defense will mean he’ll get fired within three years.
Christ, Dabo understands the importance of defense. Saban certainly understands. Urban Meyer understands. See the correlation? All those aforementioned coaches are Champions. Whereas, Riley has yet to reach that level.
Personally, I think both are good hires in their own ways. I just think that a younger Riley is more advanced offensively that Jimbo.
That’s great if Riley comes here with his offensive mind, but going against the SEC week in and week out, you won’t be hanging 40+ each time. DEFENSE!
So, it is somewhat relative which coach is better overall. If Riley can grow and realize he can’t do shite without a solid DC, then I hope for him. Otherwise, I’ll take Jimbo and hope he continues to make good DC hires.

Riley plays in a glorified group of five league. The jury is definitely still out on his ability to handle consistently high competition. He’s not fared well when facing similarly talented teams in bowls.

Amen! This OP is a stupid arse idiot.

Yep. Pretty fair assessment. Understanding the importance of defense, and dedicating recruiting to defense is what he needs to comprehend.

OU is 63 in total defense. Have they played a ranked team?
