I have a couple issues with this situation.
1. I think O wanted someone else and was handcuffed by the admin.
2. If the admin was going to handcuff O what was the point in hiring him in the first place.
3. In short, we need to blow the whole thing up from top down. Our admin is as incompetent as anyone.

Firing Matt Canada for Steve Ensminger might be one of the dumbest personnel decisions in the history of college football coaching.
Firing Miles for Orgeron comes close

That is what got Miles fired.
Interestingly enough, I’m going to say O is just understanding that there was a method to Miles’ madness.
People can talk about rebuilding the offense, but the bottom line is Miles’ scheme won a shite ton of games. It isn’t all that dissimilar from the pro style attacks of Alabama or even the USC dynasty offense O dreams about.
The difference is those schools have solid quarterbacks to run the full system and LSU for any number of reasons just hasn’t for years.
O talked about points and blah blah blah to sell the fanbase, but all he cares about is winning to keep his gravy train running. And the best way to do that is follow right along the path Miles carved out for him.
All the fanfare about the record setting performances last year with Ensminger, that was Miles’ offense. Period. Add a bit of a fresh approach to play calling, and several historically bad run defenses, and voila, the offense is renovated, right?
O is building up the lines to run the football. That is clearly obvious. With Aranda and a really damn good defense coming back, he knows his best shot against a tough schedule is to keep games slow and close.
And you know what? He’s not wrong. It makes us firing Miles for this con man even more absurd, but I honestly think he is making the right call.
You want to be breaking in a Briles or Yurcich offense with no proven players at QB or WR against Miami, Auburn, UGA, and at UF before we even get to Bama??
Get real.
O is a complete joke and it is an embarrassment that he is LSU’s coach. But this is actually by far his best play here, and I think he rides the Miles/Ensminger train to another 9-3 year.

People are being to hard on Ensminger. He’s not a dumb coach by any means. I’m one that thinks he can do a good job.
Would I prefer a younger offensive mind, sure but apparently that isn’t happening with Coach O. He wants to run that USC pro style by all means. This is what makes the Canada hire so confusing.

This news will make Saban smile once knowing that's one week of game prep he can take off from and then he will go back preparing his team for the NC.

I opened this thread expecting to see a link to an article about LSU having hired Steve Ensminger to be the full time OC. I've spent the last 5 min doing a Google search for LSU's new OC hire, as well.....Nothing....Yet, the entire thread is nothing but crying about "the sky is falling..."
Don't get me wrong as I don't think Coach Ensminger would be the right man for the job. I've yet to see any credible evidence suggesting Ensminger will be the next OC. Nevertheless, why does everyone insist on thinking Coach Ensminger is going to be the newest full time OC??
