Trust me. It would be a temporary pay raise. There is almost nothing to build on there. Holtz will have better options.

Or he's getting leverage for a better deal at ECU.

It wouldn't be that smart of him to jump to a BCS school if it's the wrong one. He could effectively kill his coaching career by going there, but then again, it could be his best shot.

That might be the wrong school to play for leverage. ECU's AD might giggle at that one.

Except Syracuse actually has football tradition... you know, the school that produced McNabb, Freeney, and Marvin Harrison not too long ago and Jim Brown and Ernie Davis a while back.

They went undefeated in 1987 and have won a national championship before. They're not fricking Temple.
