Wilks is obviously his own animal but Hamdan would be on a rehab tree. And Casey was promoted to his highest position from his staff.

If you are so far down your list that you’re on DorkTitz then go get Heupel

Yes, he gets paid a lot. Missouri pays him to sustain what he has built.

That’s Drinkwitz’s problem. He wants to get paid like a top 5 coach, but he isn’t. You have to pay him like Ryan Day and he likely has priced himself out of the market. He will command a huge salary and a massive buyout just like Brian Kelly’s buyout.

Every coach at a top school has a big salary with a buyout. He’s either your guy or he isn’t. LSU fans care way to much about what the buyout is going to be

Cherry picked? Dude has never beaten an SEC team that finished with a winning conference record. If you don’t think that’s a red flag, not sure what to tell you.

How many of those was Missouri favored in?

Yes, cherry picked with zero context.

You’ve made great points in this thread. Missouri should give Drink a bonus for being so great. He’s perfect for where he is.

I would say they are probably happy with him:

quote:

3 year run with:
-28 wins, 9th most in P4
-19 home wins, 3rd most in P4
-14 SEC wins
-11 wins vs = .500 teams
-5 wins vs Top 25 teams
-3 wins vs Top 15 teams
-22-0 record when favored
-Mizzou record 20 straight sellouts

Who cares? He’s 0 and FIFTEEN.

You don’t pay 10+ million for a proven failure.

I just think he’s fine where he’s at.

Mizzou with SEC money should be a middling program and that’s where he’s got them. Nothing wrong with that but I don’t see anything about him that screams elite

I also never like an offensive coach whose offenses typically have not been above average.

So when you combine that with the cost to acquire him, raise and a buy out, I don’t see the appeal

He finished 4th in the new SEC last year, and was 6-2 in the league the year before. Idk what your expectations are for Missouri but I’d say he has exceeded them.

If they can’t land Kiffin, who do you want? There is no one that screams elite.

No one screams elite but other options on the board that offer more upside and will be more affordable

You think drink is a 10+mil a year coach plus his buyout ?

You’re setting yourself up again to be strapped long term to a guy that will give you a ton of mehhh

I don’t worry about the money J.

And Regardless if some G5 coach would work here, lsu does not have the people in place to make a forward-thinking decision like that. If they are chasing Kiffin they don’t care about affordable, either.

Fantastic! Missouri should retain him until retirement. He’s perfect where he is.
