He tweeted last night that UT said no to this setup:

Kiffin - HC
Tee Martin - OC
Kevin Steele - DC

Not sure how to link twitter here.

LOL, like I’ll trust anything from some drunk who killed a guy.

Didn’t Steele go back to the state of Alabama because of the state pension or something like that ??

Yep

Article from Jan 1 2016

quote:

Steele, 57, already has four years of tenure as a state employee after working in two different stints (2007-08, 2013-2014) at the University of Alabama and would need six more years to qualify for the 10-year threshold to begin qualifications for a state pension.

So he's still got a little ways to go. I don't see him leaving.

Donté Stallworth killed a guy and got less of a suspension than Sean Payton.

Yes I’m still bitter.

Steele is currently in Bama where he is adding money to his already vested state pension, he has his defense already setup and rolling, and is with a very stable program and head coach.

But Donte and other vols I am sure think Steele would leave all that for the DC position at UT?

I don't quite understand the pull of the State Pension. It seems to me that Steele should be making enough to be putting away money for retirement without the need to be vested into a state system. You act like he is some tradesmen living hand to mouth. Someone explain why this is such a big deal

I agree. I don't think that's a big factor for a guy who's making a million every year and still has plenty of years of coaching left in him.

The one that people wanted fired a couple weeks ago? Or the one rumored for the ARK job?

Lane Kiffin tweeted back at him saying none of that was true.
