3 yrs to put us back in title contention.

If it's Riley 3 yrs
Aranda 3 yrs
Napier 3 yrs

Etc

They only people that will vehemtly disagree with that are the fan boys of each particular coach that they want.

I don't want any excuses that they need 4, 5, 6 yrs.

Our team is completely broken right now we have like 17 guys out and 3rd string and walk ons playing yet we should've beat Bama and Arkansas in this broken year with a competent coach.

My expectation personally is pretty damn conservative NY6 bowl every year and in playoff every 3 yrs.

In the SEC, only head coaches who have won their division within the first three years have gone on to win a conference title. The exceptions: Fulmer and Orgeron.

Msybe I am misunderstanding your post, but are you suggesting we offer a potential coach a 3 year deal? Or are you saying we offer a real contract, but run them off after 3 years if they don’t make the playoffs?

Good expectations. Steady ascent and championship in year 3 or get out.

If Ed can do it, anyone can.

Just be realistic about “title contention” in Baton Rouge.

Kirby has Uga in contention waaaaay before this year.
And he’s the best coach for them.
But he hasn’t won it yet. Just know thst.

OU
Clemson
UGA
Bama
OSU
Oregon

Are basically doing it. I see no reason why we can't

10 wins basically gets you a NY6 bowl beating Bama gets you in playoff

I think that's an honest expectation

If we’re paying 12-15 million, it’s championship in year 3 or you’re on the hot seat.

Don’t Care who the coach ends up being, they stay no longer than three years.

If they’re successful, they’ll move on to a marquis

If they’re moderately successful, mediocre, or fail…they will be fired.

It’s the LSU conundrum.

Which is why no coach like Riley or Fisher would leave the job they have now.

Honestly I think Les miles record wise results for the first 7 to 9 years is acceptable with the expectation of three things:

1. A team like in 2007 should have went undefeated. One loss was acceptable but both losses were to bad coaching.
2. 2011 should have been a national championship
3. The losing to Alabama

I think the one 8-5 season during that time was ok look from when he started through at least 2011 if not 2013 and if someone told you that will be the results over the next 7 to 9 years if you would be happy with them. I would.

I am definitely not advocating fir Les Miles. I am purely saying if the next Coach gives us that before they go bat shite crazy. (Why does it seem LSU coaches go bat shite crazy- Les and O? This is why I don’t want Lane. He has that potential.)

I agree

But for Fickell if he were to be OSU coach the expectations would be the exact same.
