Pelini is looking to jump to whatever SEC school will take him. His seat is warm at Nebraska, despite a 10-win season.

Pelini

I don't think he has the temperament for the good 'ol boy arse kissing that's required in the SEC. I could see him fighting a booster or a fan

Because 2 of these delusional athletic programs are going after a monday night football commentator. Luckily the barn is doing who knows what and meanwhile johnelle thinks he is still in office.

It's not his temperament, it's his lack of people skills.

Jackie Sherrill, Nick Saban, Kevin Sumlin are all grumpy and sharp with the media and direct to boosters. Pelini just doesn't have to savvy to work people like they do.

And as far as it being hard to find a coach, I feel ya. A&M reportedly contacted Richt and Peterseen and Miles and Saban's agents contacted us. None of the 4 materialized. Luckily we had Sumlin and Fedora to choose between. It just seems no mid-majors have somebody rope to pick this year. Harder to pick away from BCS schools.

James Franklin and Pat Fitzgerald don't seem to be nudging but are absolute all-stars. After them Gundy and Briles are good hires.

Ftr, I don't think Miles or Saban had any interest in A&M. Their agents were either trying to leverage for a raise or see if we'd throw retarded money at them.

Neither happened. We were serious about finding a coach quickly. (and apparently kinda cheaply)

It might be a good sign for y'all.

Mike Shula was fired in November and Nick Saban wasn't hired until January.

Splash hires take longer

Hogs, War Chickens and Vols have known they would be seeking new coaches for some time now. They should be going through a well thought out list of viable candidates quickly.

What makes you think Arkansas doesn't have their man? It's been only 2 days since our next head coach lead his team on the field. The Hogs will announce their new coach by Wednesday....at the latest.

Why is it taking so long for these schools to hire a coach?

Maybe because they're trying to find the right person for the job?

No, no, no . . . This thread has told me that the regular season just ended Saturday and that AD's are only now beginning to consider candidates because coaches are such honest individuals that they will not entertain other offers while still coaching

Nobody wants to get their arse kicked by Miles and Saban on a yearly basis
