Is automatic when Saban retires? Why are some of these big name schools not after Dabo?

I think the answer to the first question is yes, and it also explains the second question. He is a great recruiter as well.

ETA: As you can see from some of the replies, some of us are not handling our disappointment in yesterday's shite-show very well.

If I was Dabo, you couldn't pay me enough to follow Saban. He will get killed if he doesn't win a NC by his 2nd year.

I rather follow the guy that follows "the guy"

I think it's similar to Miles and Michigan. Does he wanna leave something he created at a school that's not his alma mater but he is riding high? Or does he give that up to follow the greatest coach ever in history at his alma mater where losing isn't an option. I think it's a tough choice but why would he give up what he has. Saban has a few more years and if Clemson doesn't reach that next level Bama may not want him. If one of the Saban minions succeeds anywhere Im sure they will get a look. Kirby Smart isn't looking good yet at UGA but if he does well he would be on the short list because Bama fans like anything that touched Saban.

Until Saban they made some shitty hires though. Even a few weeks before hiring Saban they chose a shitty coach. So don't expect them to have another savior fall into their lap.

I think Dabo stays at Clemson...I don't see why he would ever leave them.
