Does desire for a certain scheme factor in your coaching favorite?

I like the pro style attack that Jimbo employs and that O said he would go with. With our ability to get running backs and receivers I think that's also the scheme to maximize our talent AND get them to the next level.

Guys like Fedora and Herman are good coaches but I not a fan of the spread. Doesn't prep guys for the league as well and stout defense can easily defend it.

I also really like Aranda's 3-4 defense. If he leaves I'd like to get a guy that runs the 3-4.

It's not the scheme of the players, it's the ability to scheme against other coaches

I'm not so much worried about the scheme my coach employs, I'm more of a fan of getting someone who either really knows defense or offense as opposed to the "CEO" that relies on having good coordinators. Good coordinators usually don't last long.

We're going to get players to the next level regardless. I would prefer to see our athletes in a spread offense but I'm not against a pro offense.

I'm liking the 3-4 defense more.

The system Herman ran worked at Florida, works as OSU and would work here.

Ask Ezekiel elliot how prepared for the NFL he was.

I personally would like a Meyer type spread. Louisiana is loaded with athletes year in and year out. Would utilize all of it.

I would prefer a more pro style vertical offense with a power running game with a few spread components than a chip Kelly style spread for sure. Winning obviously most important but I hate games that are 40 something to 40 something or worse where both defenses can barely slow the other team.

I think it helps if a HC can sit in a prospective recruits LR and say I'm gonna teach you how to play like a pro. As in reading a defense, going through progressions for a QB, running pro routes as a WR ect.

all I care about is keeping Aranda. the QB can throw the ball backwards over his head for all i care, as long as it works.

Keeping Aranda really shouldn't be the highest priority because he's destined to be a head coach real soon.

I like a coach that will be willing to adapt to the game and they types of players he has. Highly rated duel threat QB wants to come to LSU? Sign him and adapt to some spread and option philosophies while ge's starting. Pro style QB and a great RB? Run the football in primarily pro sets.

17 of the 29 new coaching hires in CFB last year had offensive backgrounds. thats the sexier hire from a PR standpoint. DCs tend to hang around much longer, even great ones. Venables is a perfect example.

Aranda could probably get some G5 job if he wanted, which is why we need to throw so much money at him that LSU is simply too good to leave.

Throw money at him. I hope he stays forever but some P5 school will target him soon, I'm sure.
