why would he make a lateral move?

I would be super pissed if this happened.
I would also flip from the Pro-Miles to the Anti-Miles club.

I think they offered him like 2 weeks ago and he told them to shove it

Only if the blood supply is momentarily cut off from his head.
Of course, his agent is VERY interested.

Why? Chavis is not the only dc out there. What you need to worry about is crowton

Because part of the reason I am against firing Miles is that I like the staff he has put together (outside of Crowton). Firing Miles means losing a lot of that staff and a major disruption in our program.
Losing Chavis would represent a major disruption. If we lose Chavis, I would want us to get a head coach that is defensively or offensively minded. I generally like Les, but like most fans, don't know what he adds besides recruiting (which is very important) and think he is very overpaid at his current salary.

No according to insiders on Scout

Chavis isn't going anywhere until Miles does and maybe not then if the HC wants him.The guy is very loyal and a lifer as a DC.He's not going to get more money anywhere else.

Maybe if they gave him another 100K? More money could make him leave.

He still owns a house up in Knoxville and eventually wants to go back. Austin takes him further away. He likes the team and coaches here and makes great pay. He is not going to Texas.

Chief is replaceable, but for the record, he is happy with the $$ at LSU & after he turned down Georgia, he is going nowhere unless by some chance, he could go back to Tenn.
