No. He left when he knew the sport has passed him.

Hire the man as an advisor and let him redirect the program from the sidelines

People are picking out the 1% of the delusional posts and commenting on them like it’s a majority of the fan base being delusional.

When in reality, the overwhelming majority doesn’t believe this is ever going to happen.

People are debating scenarios on the hypothetical that it does, but that’s just banter. All of this back and forth is just arguing semantics.

Yes, for 3-4 years, a couple of Natty’s and mentoring a protégée to succeed him.

He’s 74, but that hair is in its early 30s.

Hmm.

Does anyone honestly doubt that LSU breaks its playoff drought with 74 year old (and older) Saban on the sideline?

I would take Saban on the sidelines and then hand picking the next coach. He may not win a championship but seeing bama fans lose their minds would be great.

I do not. I’d love him involved in some capacity with the AD but it’s a younger man’s game now.

Yep, Saban as a 3-4 year AD would work. Thats what I was hoping for.

Not I.

I think he can still run a program. As far as wanting him to return for the reasons you stated, most LSU fans aren't 9th graders.

I'm sure most believe he could impact the program in a positive manner- and that's why his return would be welcomed.

But it's a long shot, IMHO.

Nope. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I think DeBoer is or will ever be the equal of Saban. But Saban is retired. He had his time and I'm thankful for it, but it's over. It's time for the next era of Bama football, whether that be under DeBoer (hopefully) or someone else if he ends up failing.
