Ruffin Rodrigue is also to blame. He actually said Friday that he hopes O gets the job so he can keep feeling special by being welcomed back

Yep I saw an ole Miss fan talking about that same binder....and Joe falls for it years later.
I think Joe mostly just caved to public pressure, his top two weren't all that attainable and people were losing their minds about the possibility of having to hire much more qualified coaches than O. He's on borrowed time anyway so this move buys him at least a few years.

After this is all said and done, I am actually worried LSU will never recover. The state is in a big mess financially and the atheltic department could possibly go from the top 5 in revenue in the country to the bottom half .

Any reasonable fan knew miles wasn't gonna change the offense. You can sure as hell bet he told O to prepare for this at the start of the season. In fact I've heard alleva told coach o to be ready after the wiscy game.
