Well considering that he is the Defensive Coordinator at AUBURN, I don't think it's looking all that good for the Tigers of LSU.

Sad part, he actually wanted to come here!! I wonder if he would still want the job? Woth a shot at this point, Auburn will struggle these next few years if I had to guess

Yeah but he was just as unfairly trashed back when we thought we could get Freeman. Reality is that he would have been a solid but not super exciting hire. Fans on this site turned their nose up when they thought we could get somebody with more hype and now they would pay whatever for someone of his caliber lol.

If this is what is guiding the coaching decisions at LSU then we have a shite ton more to worry about than the DC search

No he didn't. Mason and Harsin are buddies irl. They have vacationed together in the past. The moment Harsin was hired, Mason was gonna be the DC.

Wanted Pete Kwiatkowski and Mason was my second choice. Both have been hired by Texas and Auburn. The one everybody wanted here in Freeman was hired by ND, and the possible up and comer in Neilson was held on to by the Saints.
Basically every guy that most wouldn't have had a problem with (had they done a little research), have been grabbed or retained and now we are scrapping the bottom of the barrell. We were one week behind Notre Dame on the DC coaching search and we are still the last big name school to not replace our DC. These are when DCs were fired or left, and new HCs were hired and had the chance to start looking for DCs:

LSU Dec 21
Auburn Dec 22
Michigan Dec 22
Texas Jan 3rd
Ed makes every damn thing harder than it needs to be.
