I still don't think he gets his due credit for being a top notch coach.

I don't think it is easy to draw him away from a cushy situation in a weak Conference, but...

This. He is having success at his alma mater, one of the top academic institutions in the country (world?). And the Palo Alto area is awesome.

I don't think Stanford is the best job in CFB, but david shaw is a great fit. stanford, while still being in CA and being in close proximity to a bunch of great recruits, along with the academic prestige, is not a pressure cooker situation like LSU, in which one loss means that half of your fanbase is calling for your head

I agree! David Shaw should be interviewed for the position. What he's been able to sustain at Stanford post-Harbaugh is astonishing.

You think so? Recruiting with 20 other schools for the top recruits in California is not easy.

At LSU (recruiting Louisiana), I think he'd do wonders.
