What if Wake Forest wins out and takes the ACC championship?
Seriously, what then?
You'd have a guy 13-0 with a league title who's then had 10-win seasons at four different stops (Fordham, Richmond, Bowling Green and Wake Forest) and who's taken Wake to six straight bowl games.
Don't know if a 13-0 Wake Forest team gets into the playoffs, but Clawson at that point is at least a finalist for national coach of the year.
Is he not a candidate at that point?

They barely beat Louisville and Syracuse (in OT). And let Army put up 56. His previous teams at WF haven't been that great either. Don't let the 7-0 fool you.

He's at WAKE FOREST. That's a Sun Belt or Big South school playing in the ACC.
To go 6-6 there is a hell of a coaching job. You aren't recruiting Top 247 players at Wake Forest.
