Dan Quinn to serve as Falcons DC

Falcons coach Dan Quinn will serve as his own defensive coordinator in 2019.
Quinn fired Marquand Manuel three days ago and will not hire a replacement. In an interview with the team's website, Quinn acknowledged this would necessitate handing off some duties for 2019. Quinn is feeling the heat after two years of backsliding following the Falcons' 2016 NFC championship. He has only two years of NFL coordinating experience.

This move never seems to go well where it has been tried

Guess he's making his last stand

Why doesn't he hire a coordinator to deal with practice schedules and installations, and just call the plays / make the personnel decisions?
Kinda like what CSP does for the Saints offense.
