Since we whiffed on Marcus Freeman being a DC at LSU.. wonder if he would take a HC position?
His defense isn't spectacular at Notre Dame though..
I would take Venables. he wouldn't leave though.
Jim Leonhard or Zach Arnette may be a better fit.

Freeman, Venables, Leonhard, Arnette.... none of these guys will be considered for the LSU HC job...

I think Kendal Briles might be the top assistant in the country.
Not sure if the Briles name is till too toxic though.
SMU should hire him.

That's a decent list. Wondering what openings will be willing to go the assistant route. I'm guessing some dominoes will have to fall at the top of college football before we see these guys hired.

Despite some odd playcalls in weird situations at times overall he's done a fantastic job with the offense at Arkansas this year. SMU job worries me too but yeah, the Briles name in Texas may still be tough from a recruiting standpoint as a head coach. He also has some immaturity about him but so did Kingsbury and he's doing fine.

SMU is pretty risk averse. Rhett Lashlee is reportedly in the mix should Sonny Depart for TCU.
