Who's responsibility is it to coach a player up? His position coach. Who is the quarterback coach? Gary Crowton.

He is the problem, and evidence to his inability to coach a quarterback is throughout his entire career.

crowton's issue at lsu was that he and miles weren't on the same page. crowton stated in the advocate article, and it has been confirmed by players, that miles does indeed affect the playcalling at times. crowton wasn't bitter about it and acknowledged that miles has all 3 phases of the game to manage.

also, crowton was severely hampered by two qb's that are head cases. you can't "coach up" someone who has mental issues with the game. jefferson is a warrior but, he doesn't have the acumen to be an excellent qb.

Well, what were his issues at:

BYU
Oregon
Chicago Bears

He has had a history of worsening offensive production, he has a history of poor QB play (Rattay exception).

I'm going to laugh when Maryland has a big time offense

Crowton finally has a QUARTERBACK in O'Brien

the problem with these stats is that crowton never stayed long enough for anyone to know whether he could improve on that.

as far as what his issues were at other places, who knows? football is a complex sport with many variables. production of the offense isn't solely reliant on the oc

Crowton leaving LSU: this more than anything else should scare our opponents about the upcoming season.

Hey whatever it takes to get rid of GC. Just think of it as a "prolonged Lenten season". Besides, I never said shite about giving up the girls.

Hope he gets a new job.

Hasn't been a good OC lately but they say he's a pretty good guy and so it's good to see that he lands on his feet.

Love this quote:

For better or worse, thats what we are. We're not on the level of an LSU, and may never be. Gotta come to terms with that.
