He's the only one remaining that was on the Denver Post's original list of 10. I could see him getting it as well.

Been a hot name as an assisstant for a while now. And it makes sense. He was an All American at Colorado and was the running backs coach at there from 2001 to 2002. Went to UCLA for a few years and was a lead recruiter.
He's been the running back coach with the Minnisota Vikings for a few years now.
I'm acutally surprised he's being mentioned for the head coaching job. I don't think he's ever been a coordinator of any kind.

hiring an alum that is a great recruiter but has 0 experience as a coordinator or head coach doesnt always work out.

No, Saban IS responsible for the second half vanilla. But McElwain's playcalling is atrocious.

Ex. Run the ball 77 yds downfield. Call 3 passes inside the 5 and kick a field goal.

won't be bieniemy as HC...he may be OC, though.

Jon Embree will be offered the job. He was candidate B behind Miles.

Miles closed the door yesterday afternoon.

Colorado's original "A" list, sources said, consisted of LSU coach Les Miles, Air Force coach Troy Calhoun and former Oregon coach Mike Bellotti. CU talked to Calhoun and Bellotti but they could not be enticed. Miles was always a longshot, as he holds one of the most prestigious college football jobs in the country.

The Bama hatred for McElwain cracks me up.

CU talked only to Belotti...not calhoun. Calhoun was never an option, although he pressed hard for an interview.

The highest CU could get was 3 million over 6...not enough to get the deal done. Miles and CU parted ways officially at 3pm yesterday.

I know 99% of you think there's no chance that Miles would have gone to CU. Fact is Miles and CU have been talking for some time and Miles was very interested.

Remember after 2007 there were rumors Saban was going to come after Crowton and we were worried.

Ahh, the good ole days.
