This was a pretty boring cycle but these were probably the high points:

1. The Deion Sanders sweepstakes
2. Hugh Freeze returning to the SEC (even though everyone knew he was going to Auburn )
3. Georgia Tech stepping on their dicks and fricking up the Willie Fritz hire.

Absolutely nothing notable happened in the NFL. Everyone we expected to get fired was fired and Sean Payton unsurprisingly came of his fake retirement

Best hires

Luke Fickell to Wisconsin - Dude can flat out coach and that seems like the perfect fit.

Jamey Chadwell to Liberty - Absolute steal there.

Worst hires

Scott Satterfield to Cincinnati - did an old rival a huge favor by plucking him off the hot seat. Could have done much better

Kevin Wilson to Tulsa - Lazy hire of a 61 year old coordinator.

Would add Brohm to Louisville on this list, as well. He'll be competitive in the ACC in short order.

Also Rhule to Nebraska was a home run in my opinion

Don’t lock in worst hires until Saban has his coordinators finalized

It was the most boring year I could remember in a long time. Even black Monday in the nfl was pretty meh.

Most exciting year ever for me.

The change from Chryst to Fickell is night and day. Lots of excitement and enthusiasm around the program now.

he sure seemed to enjoy himself on TV, but you definitely got the sense that he'd be back coaching in no time.

no one and I mean no one talks about how he left when the Saints had a pile of shite in its lap.

I mean he was the head coach there, but most people would probably just blame their cap space issues. That's fine but he also was responsible for a ton of personnel decisions. He wasn't perfect.

No everyone would just rather focus on what he's going to do now.

when it got too tough, he hit the road.

That was entertaining but Lane played that magnificently getting a raise after a 5 game losing streak
