That article just says that he's "focused on recruiting" - meaning that Sexton is probably fielding all of the contract calls.

Knowing Saban, he's probably just hedging his bets on the recruiting trail; if he stays he'll have a solid class for Bama.

If "he gone" then he'll just call up all of his top recruits and say, "hey, remember all that shite I said about Alabama, well, I really meant Texas. So just come here instead."

Saban practices what he preaches, and that's living in a 3-foot prism right in front of him.

Besides, the only possible way that Saban would leave is if Alabama royally screwed up this process, or if by some chance, there were major administrative changes at the top of the university that adversely affected the way Saban wants to run his program.

So, has the University of Alabama become a place where it is more important to have a great football team over being an excellent location for higher learning? If the best university president of all time would want to lead the university, the football coach has the final say if that individual would be given the job?

With no official statement from Saban or Bama to affirm this.

So....why does he have an unsigned contract extension just sitting on his desk?

The University of Alabama has become a place where one causes the other. They are not mutually exclusive, in fact the exact opposite.

That's rich coming from you. You've been running around following this Saban story like a love sick pimply faced school girl. You are so charged up on wanting him to leave I think you will get physically ill if he doesn't.

Low doesn't specifically state he is staying. Mystery sources close to Saban told Low they'd be surprised if he bolted. I would classify this more along the lines of Low hoping he stays. Hell, I think he stays as well.

Low is okay. Just putting something out there as he does almost every day on ESPN. Chris Low's column "brought to you by The Longhorn Network." Ha.
