Chill...

If Miles hires a DC, they have about 10 practices to try to change their system and prepare for a triple option attack.
That's a recipe for disaster, and would get the new DC on the bad side of the fan base to start off.
Waiting on the hire is the smartest thing to do.

Not to mention the season has been over for almost a week and a half now. It took two weeks for them to call me back for my current job after I had my interview. I can't believe they didn't realize I was the best candidate for the job based solely on my resume. I don't know why I even had to interview.

Or have a job opening

Exactly. It's not as if he fired someone with no plan in place (Auburn). I'm as ready as the next guy to get a new DC, but it's a process. Let's hope it works out in the end.

I think most here realize that. It's the concern over whether LM really has a coach lined up for the post-bowl hire...and if he can keep it from derailing over the next 4 wks or so.

Agreed, but it's not like he's in the position to announce ANYTHING except that the team is preparing for the bowl game.

True, he plays it really close to the vest. Seems like very few really know what is going on. Causing great consternation on the message boards.

He may or may not make the right decision, or may or may not do the right thing, but it's a no brainer that he's a communications disaster. Dude has no clue how to manage the fan base and the media.

I agree but if miles had a DC in place they could help scheme for GT which Malleveto has show little ability to do. If Mallory or Peveto stay on, the system they have in place could still be used but you could have somebody tweaking it to be more effective.

But I will add this...Miles can take the time he needs because he needs to get this right. I like Miles and hopes he puts someone in place to make this D nasty again.

The reason everyone is going nuts over this is the fear that we will see Malleveto or 1/2 of Malleveto as DC next year.
If we knew for certain there was gonna be a new DC there wouldn't be mass hysteria.

Malleveto will coach in the bowl game. They have done such a superb job coaching this year they deserve their bonuses

I agree. We should chill. Look what Auburn did last year in rushing to hire Franklin. He coaches in the bowl game, scores 21 points and everyone thinks he's the second coming. Besides, you can't install a new system in 3 weeks. Our recruits remain solid so what does it hurt to take your time and make the RIGHT hire.

I think a good coach would want to come in and start working with the new players as soon as possible, damn the results.

I couldn't care less if Miles hires a new DC before or after the bowl. I couldn't care less if we win or lose this bowl game.
I want Miles to hire the right guy for the job for the future of the program, not for one bowl game.

my opinion is the sooner they can get someone in and start working on the problem, the better.

Rational people posting on this board is a little bit like being a human in "Attack of the Pod People." Be very careful.

The issue is, if we've heard about a possible new DC hire, you don't think Malveto has too? How much enthusiasm do they have to get the players ready for GT knowing they are out in couple/three weeks?
You line up and play football to win. I care if we win the Peach Bowl. I care more that we don't give up 700 yards rushing on national TV. And I don't see how keeping Malveto, who knows they are getting run off, for the bowl game helps us either beat GT and not give up 700 yards rushing for the world to see.
Honestly, if we are going to give up 700 yards rushing, I wish we weren't even in a damned bowl.

frick the Peach Bowl and frick the fans. The only way waiting can hurt LSU is if he waits to long and some of the candidates take other jobs. The 2008 Peach Bowl and entitled fans' little feelings are irrelevant in the Big Picture.
