DALSU never had direct inside information. Deal was NEVER finalized, Sexton ruled the process -King was forced to step to execute damage control.
The leak did not come from DALSU because he did not have the connection.

Because money was not the only factor. Public sentiment of Miles played a part. They fricking made the decision at halftime of Miles' send off game! If no one knows that he's getting fired and Jimbo is getting hired, there is no send off game. People are still pissed off, and the deal may still have happened.
And that brings me back to my point that DALSU needs to keep his fricking mouth shut.

I just don't buy your "Sexton out negotiated Alleva". If Jimbo was very interested, and we all believe that, Jimbo would have instructed Sexton to make a deal, not "out maneuver" Alleva. Both Jimbo and LSU lost in last years debacle.

You really think this? Then why was there a meeting held at the game? Who was in that meeting?
At LSU no matter what your title and pay grade - there are others that should be consulted before you make this level of a hire- to not understand this is foolish.
Saban was hired by Mark Emmert, Les by Skip (though Skip says it was his decision- he ran it by others first-the right thing to do)
For the LSU AD to try to close a deal without involving the others is a recipe for failure.
Whether we like it or not the people who put up the money to pay out CLM and hire a new coach will and should have their turn to talk. They do not get to make the decision alone but pay to be heard. This is Louisiana and how things work (and it works this way at other universities as well--we are not unique in this aspect)
