Board appears to be in initial meltdown stages. Phil Fulmer?

People trust you -- how about a little sanity check here? Give us your thoughts. Or do you enjoy seeing folks spiraling out of control? (it IS a little entertaining...)

OK, here's my attempt at calming the lunatics: if Miles is going to go, he's going to go. Don't "picket" his house. He's from Michigan. Makes sense he'd want to coach there. Assume that Joe Alleva wants to hire the best possible replacement, as quickly as possible. Assume he's already been working behind the scenes, and has assured himself that coaches like Patterson, Mullen, Spurrier, Saban, are not going to leave their present jobs. Assume that however Bo Pelini, a very good coach who has a proven track record, has HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCE at NEBRASKA, has had success, does want to move from Nebraska to LSU, and, you'll come to realize that this would be a solid hire and the program will remain in good shape, plus, we might actually better time manage games "on the back end"?

OK?

Pelini is more likely than not at this moment.

I beg the board to ignore this statement of insanity.

Pelini is as unstable as a shithouse rat. The guy promised a U.S. SOLDIER the opportunity to call 1 play in the bowl game. After this U.S. SOLDIER took weeks studying the playbook and formulating one play, he stood on the sidelines and watched Pelini meltdown. Nebraska players and coaches asked him what play he would call.

The game ended, and he was never given the chance.

After the game, Pelini said he was joking when he promised this to the U.S. Soldier.

Miles is NOT 'from Michigan'.
he's FROM Ohio.

he was all state in Ohio in high school.

Miles played for Bo at Mich.

that's a difference worth considering.

Why would Bo leave Nebraska? He already has a good job why would he jump to come to BR for a bunch of ungrateful pricks like you?

That's a hell of a big assumption to make. Please continue meltdown.

I'm a US soldier. I don't care. The guy will get over it. He's a big boy. Especially if he's served time or is serving time at sea. I mean, look, I appreciate all the encouragement and the love from people, but just because the sailor, or me, or anyone else, is in the military, doesn't mean we're qualified to call a play in a college football game. I think that story is way way overblown. Look, there are legitimate criticisms of Pelini ... I'm not a "Pelini guy," I just think, it looks like he's going to be the guy, he's a good coach, let's get behind him, if this happens.

My surgeon promised me that I could "take the first cut" on his next appendectomy ... I suited up, washed my hands, sterilized, grasped the scalpel, and was getting ready to make the incision (after all, I HAD slept in a Holiday Inn Express the night before) and my surgeon stopped me. Prick.

Then, Pelini, as a coach, should not announce that the soldier who wins the drawing would be able to call 1 play during the game.

And the character of the man should be one of the top.

He has several times this year shown on a public forum that he does not have the temperment, nor character, to represent LSU. In the short term, he might get some wins. In the longterm, LSU will regret the day it hired him.

You promise a soldier the opportunity to call 1 play. You ignore him the entire game cause you get your arse whipped. When confronted by the media after the game, you say it was a joke?

Character, man.

Chicken is enjoying the clicks

Not just that but tigernation is in limbo for the next few days it appears. We have no idea if the LSU job is open and who might be interested? Alleva has a list but we don't know for sure his targets. This is an exciting, anxious, stressful, depressing, and hopeful situation
