Maybe there's a reason CBK had a say so in ND offense. To have Coan throw the ball 68 times when at one point you had a 28-7 lead is INSANE

Exactly, they refused to run the ball today. That very well could have cost them, in the end.

I think using 28-7 in this context is a bit misleading. Oklahoma St scored on the last drive of the first half and the first drive of the second half to make it 28-21. Should Freeman have tried to sit on a one score lead for the entire second half?

28-7 lead, and ND ended the game with 42 yards rushing. That’s beyond bad coaching, that’s just stupid.

Not saying get completely conservative but at one point while they were still up 28-21 they threw 14 straight passes between 2 possessions. Run some type of clock

OSU scored with 37 secs until halftime. If Freeman commits to running the ball up 28-7, OSU doesn’t score before the half and ND comes out in the 3rd with the momentum.

Yeah that's 68 pass context. It wasn't a real 28-7 lead.

And you think that translates into the same offense we can expect from Kelly at LSU?

Notre Dame had just scored to make it 28-7 on the previous drive. When did they have the opportunity to run down the clock?

It wasn’t wrong. It just doesn’t reflect the game situation. ND never had possession of the ball up 28-7. They had possession up 28-21 early in the 3rd quarter. They went 3 and out and Oklahoma St scored a 3rd straight TD to make it 28-28. There was no point in the game in which ND had a big lead and possession of the ball to even think about clock management.

Many Notre dame fans are realizing this evening that Brian Kelly made them.

Now they’re screwed

yeah was just reading about how the new HC Freeman didnt make any adjustments at halftime and presided over the worst collapse in ND football history. Oops, maybe y'all should have taken your time with that HC search

Talk about stupid…

ND has the ball at their own 15
4th down and 7
Almost 3 minutes left in the game.
All 3 time outs left

They go for it and get stopped!!

That’s stupid!!!
