I heard the same thing from a guy who said he got it straight from a BOS member's mouth( i am not at liberty to state the BOS member's name he got it from). Miles told the BOS member that he was retiring at the end of the year no matter what. We will see how it unfolds. Things can change ya know. we will know soon enough.
Has any college coach retired at 56 or under outside of Meyer?

i would love to have him and i think he would take the job if offered...but i think les stays another year and he takes a big job b4 we can snatch him up.
stanford is a big job, though.

If he were happen to retire, it doesn't necessarily mean it's permanent. Perhaps he just wants a break, get away from the enormous amount of pressure on him, watch his kids grow up a little, ect. Then resurface in a few years.
Not a outlandish thought I guess, but highly doubtful.

No way in he'll does les leave $4 million on the table to retire!! Especially considering he has one of the most anticipated and highly rated Louisiana-based recruiting classes in a very very long time

Peterson > Hawkins. I don't think the records of former coaches at Boise should be a reflection on Peterson. JMHO

So that brings us to the one town that I would put as superior and that would be Nashville.
You forgot about Lexington, KY, that's also another "big" city in the conference.

idk,but i can tell you for sure that exchange happened. but as we all know people can change their minds last minute. who knows what he decides. hard for me to watch him walk away from a gold mine while on the other hand the man is already a multi-millionaire maybe he wants to spend time with his family the rest of his life. time is money and we are all limited in our time here on earth. i do not blame the guy one second if he walks away.

His reaction to the loss and recent behavior??
What is that supposed to mean?
He wanted to lose? Didn't care if we lost? Sounds pretty hard to believe.

From whom? Last year's class was bordering on marginal. Year before was slightly better. Anyone who follows recruiting has been touting this year's class for awhile.

LSU doesnt even have top facilities in the SEC. We built the football operation center and 25 nice and better have popped up all around the country. LSU is financially strapped and cannot keep up with the jones's.
BULL!
LSU football generates 60 Million dollars a year!
60!

Been through those facilities and they are top notch. And we do have the cash to keep up with the Jones's.

I bet you though Hallman was a good hire. By all means, let's trade this season in for the season that $atin, CUM or Mack Brown had. Oh yeah, and they have the same or better talent, with the exception that none of them had anyone starting at QB as bad as LM did.
You are clueless.

Belowpar just stated in the Belowpar thread that the retirement story is absolutely not true.
