Don't know, but it beat Clemson (with Pitt talent) .

We have the personnel to run any system.

Not on the line. Maybe for a power spread, but even that system isn't predicated on the maulers we have, especially at the tackles (if you can even call most of Miles's tackles by that name. Most were converted guards). We sure as hell don't have the mobility up front to run wide splits and go with a spread option. That's the part that takes years to get settled. We do also have a lot of big TEs and FBs that will have to be shuffled around or transfer out.

All that said, I would rather have a veer and shoot guy than either Helfrich or Canada. I think Canada is the best fit for what we have right now, but I just don't know if he has the upside. I think he would be a better version of Ensminger, but I don't know if anyone can safely go further than that.

Clemson aint Bama.

clemson throws a int from to 10 yd line. it got run back to clemson 30 in the final moments. ole miss has shown us how to score on bama.

So has Auburn in 2013 and even last year, to a degree. That kind of run heavy play calling that attacks the edge equally with the middle is more similar to what Canada runs than Ole Miss' offense. I know one is run from the gun and Pitt ran a lot more under center this year, but I'm taking about where the plays go. Add a DT QB and some more gun, and they start to look similar in the way they attack a defense.

ETA: It was 2013 and 2014. Auburn' offense has struggled vs Bama the last 2 years, but they were best to Hell this year.

I think that's fair.

He certainly doesn't run a spread system, which is what Orgeron defiantly stated that we "must" do next year.

You don't watch film, you pretentious frick--you watch video. And you clearly watched the Pitt video looking to confirm your already made up mind that he wasn't all that great, but your favorite Helfrich is. I like Helfrich as well as Canada. But don't this thread retending like it was derived by some really objective breaking down of "film." You can't judge a guy by watching 20 minutes of YouTube videos.

If you put a DT QB in this system with more shotgun and pistol, it would look a LOT like a power spread. I would be interested to see what their offense would look like with a different QB. Nathan Peterman is a UT cast-off. I think he left because he wasn't a fit for Jones' spread offense.

No. I didnt know anything about Canada until I watched the film. Was trying to learn. I leaned to Helfrich after I watched Canada.

Agreed. Thats why I watched:

- NC state film with Brissett
- Watched Pitt select plays, and
- ALL offensive plays vs clemson.

That took a good deal more than 20 minutes. As to my being pretentious: I watched then posted what I saw. I saw nothing that would seem to be effective versus Bama. I'm sorry if I some how offended you. But here is where we get to state our opinion.

Maybe so. Im concerned that we have guess on what Canada if were hired. You blew up your coaching staff. You have an opportunity to go in a different direction. This stuff is not really that.

Fair enough. It looks like you've at least done your homework. Certainly more than most. I'm just so sick of all the hate.

Btw, I like Helfrich a lot myself. I could get on board with either guy.

I've been around this sport watching film my entire life. No one shoots with "film" anymore. But if you need to win here, you win.

And I respect your opinion. I just can't stand the thought of disrupting an entire staff as we have, and hire a guy that reminds me so much of what we already do. I respect that you like Canada. I don't, and I didnt get to this point until I watched the video, film, Polaroids, whatever.

I watched NC State 2014. I only saw brissett running on scrambles. Maybe a redzone play here and there.

It's hilarious because you're comparing steve ensminger, an unsuccesful OC, to Matt Canada, a very successful OC at multiple stops.

Then you go on to say no one knows if he would be any better than that, but Canada has already done more than Ensminger. That's why it's hilarious.

So again:

It's actually not. Another reason i laughed so hard at it.
