Can someone explain how Kelly isn't our Jimbo hire?

Virtually same record.
2 successfull coaches at previous spots (Jimbo has a natty)
Good/decent recruiters
Both have offensive backgrounds calling plays
Jimbo did win some big games
Brian hasn't really won any 1-7 vs top 5 teams
Both got huge contracts that tied them to respective schools for a decade.
How's he different?
For those saying he can win with our talent wouldn't you say the same about Jimbo? But look how he's doing

Jimbo just went 4-4 in the SEC with a talented team.. Kelly is in the playoff hunt again.

Because he is a different person at a much better program. Ill bite though Jimbo was on a downward trajectory at FSU, he left that roster in shambles. BK has been recruiting top 10 classes these past couple of years and has actually been improving as a coach despite his age. Also LSU is heads and shoulders a better program from when Jimbo took over A&M.

Waaaaay better than the Jimbo hire. Have you checked the scoreboard at Tiger stadium Saturday night. An under manned, inexperienced, partially injured team coached by coach O, whipped them. As an aside Elko (TAMUs DC) was Kelly’s DC until he went to TAMU.
