Calling it now: Justin Fuente will succeed Bob Stoops at OU after Stoops leaves

Fuente played at OU, born and raised in Tulsa, OK. Played QB for the Oklahoma Wranglers after college.
Just think he will have coached a decent number of years at Va Tech by the time Stoops is ready to hang it up.

He has a long wait. Bob Stoops is only 56. He could ride this out another 10 years unless his performance dips precipitously.

I'd be shocked if he went 10 more years. For some reason I think 5 more years. I thought he was getting stale at OU. Baker Mayfield does come back though.
Fuente is only 40, so he has time.

Stoops has said before that he would like to retire younger. He told boosters at one event they will be shocked one day to see him step aside and go coach high school kids locally. His two boys are both juniors in high school and I wouldn't be surprised if he retired shortly after. Especially after this Mixon thing...

I hope the knowledge of "Fuente" meaning "Source" in Spanish will be used heavily and terribly when he's up for a bigger job.

Probably. Even though he appears a no-brained, I would definitely take the field over him to,replace Stoops. When will people figure out that it's ALL about timing with these hires.

I think he's trying to get that second national title. He would walk away after that, IMO.
