Almost an identical type record of success and post season experience.

Only thing missing from BOTH resumes is a championship. Something that LSU resources and talent can allow them to do.

Woody is absolutely living up to his reputation.

Edit: They were both the hire that no one in the media and/or fan base saw coming

Absolutely No way. Brian Kelly is an undisputed top 5 coach in this league with equal talents.

So you're saying Jay Johnson isn't?

You must not be much of a baseball fan.

Brian Kelly is much more proven for much longer time periods coming from a storied football program like notre dame. The age difference makes the hire feel way different as well.

Just because the resume for Kelly is longer doesn't mean they aren't similar.

Johnson went to two CWS in 6 years and finished runner up in one of them....

i mean that's great but i still a vastly different type of hire. jay johnson was a great pull but he wasn't regarded the same as what brian kelly is regarded at this time. not near the same allure. Johnson is a bit more of a lincoln riley type hire is some ways.

Agree! they both made it to the big game/series but came up short. with all LSU can provide, they can win one.

Lincoln Riley felt a lot like Tony Vitello.
I was all in on both guys. But I think we got incredible mature coaches which is much more Woodward MO than getting the younger guy. Very interested to see BK staff. Johnson put an awesome staff together.

I said this over a month ago. He is very similar to JJ minus the age.
