I think Hoke could work out in the long run. But I don't know for a fact, and I also don't think he'll turn things around quickly. And given Michigan's (probable) desire to win now, it could hurt, if they're not patient.

I think people are more upset that even though it needed to be done, we fired RR and hired someone that has a worse overall record than he does over his career. Hoke could end up being great, but as someone already said, you guys probably wouldn't be thrilled if he was named your new head coach either. We'll see how it all turns out. All in. *sigh*

I think at the end of 3 years... we will be in alot better shape than we were with RR. Nowhere to go but up from where we are at now. I just hope he can keep the talent that we do have and make somthing of it. This year will be interesting! I am kind of excited.

I understand the UM fans frustration, but let's not forget Nick Saban and Les Miles were both very unpopular hires here as well. They did "ok".

Good luck Wolverines.

So any speculation on who is going to be on Brady's staff?

I don't think this is a bad hire; he turned 2 programs around that were really REALLY crappy when he took over

meh, he wont get 6 years to do that. 47-50 as a head coach. After 5 years at Ball, his best season was still 7-6. He will have to pick up the pace.

I will say this - SDSU held its own in the games they lost:

Lost to:

BYU 24-21
TCU 40-35
Utah 38-35
Missouri 27-24

That is good competition at least considering the players at his disposal. I can only hope that means he coaches his players well.

Well, it is what it is - he'll get my support - for now.

Okay, the one positive on Hoke, he was on the defensive staff (defensive line coach) at Michigan during their NC run in 97. Lets hope he gets some good assistants around him to make this work.

He already has a good OC and apparently his brother is a defensive coach with the Bears that might get a shot at DC.. i am guessing some of the better assistants during Carr's years might get a second shot. I am fairly certain the old QB coach might get a call and I think Jackson might get a chance to return at RB coach if he hasn't already been hired someplace

Borges joined the Auburn staff in 2004. Auburn went 41-9 in the four seasons Borges was the offensive coordinator. Auburn was the only Southeastern Conference (SEC) team to finish ranked in the top 15 each of those seasons.[3] Borges is credited with much of the success of the 2004 Auburn Tigers football team which recorded a perfect 13-0 season under his "Gulf Coast Offense" scheme, but was snubbed by the Bowl Championship Series for a berth in the BCS Championship game. Borges resigned from Auburn December 10, 2007, after a steady decline in the team's offensive production, before the team's appearance in the New Year's Eve Chick-Fil-A Bowl.[8]

Well he sounds like he did great with Auburn. Maybe he can bring some of that SEC flavor to Michigan? If he comes with Coach Hoke...
