Stoops is a proven winner and recruiter who could restore Notre Dame to national prominence. He possesses the Midwest background as a native of Youngstown, Ohio.
On the surface, it made sense. Stoops addressed the report after Monday's practice with reporters.
"That's some guy making something up," Stoops said. "I'm not answering stuff like that. There's not even a job (open) at Notre Dame. That's ridiculous."
But amidst all the rhetoric, Stoops never totally ruled out an interest in Notre Dame. It might have been an oversight. He might have thought his position was clear. Still ...
If Notre Dame would have the balls to go after him why woudn't we. I think our situation is much more attractive. We have the players and facilities to win now. Of course this is hypothetical because as on now and prolly at least next year LSU has a HC.

He is a good recruiter and OU is loaded with talent. He's even pulled talent from La and LSU. Two heismann trophy winning QB's in the last 6 years and 4 BCSNC appearances since 2000.
Bob's not coming to LSU. He already makes 4 mil and is in the process of building a new 4 mil home. Why would he come to BR when he's turned down a number of pro jobs in some very nice areas including SF. What would LSU offer?

Bump for all those that thought that Stoops to LSU was ridiculous.......It looks as though Stoops might be ready for a change but it might be Notre Dame that takes advantage of it.
