their system is so rigged right now, you'd have to find a super talented frick up to not have success there. Like even Cam Cameron couldn't frick that up

They did just that with O'Brien.

Never seen a Coach where the whole team hated him and cheered when he left.

Everyone say he is a miserable f*ck.

I have a buddy who played for Bill in college. Had a good nfl career and actually worked for Bill after his playing days wrapped up. To this day he says O’Brien is one of the best coaches he’s ever been around. Always states that Bill was born to coach the college game. There’s no doubt that O’Brien will be the next big hire at any school he wants after a season or two at Bama.

Kinda weird that O'Brien would fall into the Saban coaching tree or better yet, the Saban Head Coaching Career Resurrection Program. However, I have feeling that he will be a great OC.

I would not have liked it.

I don't like it for Bama either, but Saban is going to give him Sark's playbook and say "use as much of this as you can and use the terminology we're used to" so it'll likely work out.

I wonder if O'Brien has a similar personality to Saban that translates very well to college players but not NFL guys making more money than him.

You're stupid too. That's a homerun hire for Bama.

For shame! How can you be so uninclusive of the rest of the offense!
Do you think there are no interior offensive lineman on their keyboards making err..well..offensive posts too?

Has Saban made any bad hires? I can’t even think of one at LSU. Maybe Gary Gibbs.

BOB doing nothing but scheming and calling plays should work out fine. To answer the OP’s question i would’ve liked more of a younger guy with recent college playcalling experience (ie last 4-5 years in the RPO/spread era) but he would’ve been a good hire as simply an OC

Every coach seems to do a good job for Nick.Saban is the
reason they are so dominant. He has a system and he sticks to
it and tweaks it every so often. Nick has the psycology
of the game down.It trickles to the players and coachs.

I think OBrien is garbage but since Saban hired him clearly he sees something in him....and St Nick is almost always right.

Good hire for Alabama because it doesn’t matter who they hire because Saban.

OBrien would have been terrible here because not Saban.
