Assistant coaches still taking new jobs right after Signing Day, apparently

I'm not outraged that assistant coaches after all these years are still taking new jobs right after Signing Day, like the Florida goober who went to Texas A&M. It's been the sleaziest shite ever for years and every program in the SEC has been guilty.

I'm also not outraged that players are being played now and quick to jump into the portal, because if an assistant coach recruits you and woos you and then takes a new job literally within 24 hours of signing, how the the hell could you have any loyalty after that?

Technically, yes. Most, if not all, public university coaches are considered state government employees.

I actually agree. It’s why I never was bought into the idea we were going to fire House right after signing day so we could get a bunch of kids locked in first. That’d be a level of manipulation even college football coaches shouldn’t stoop to. Reality is I think if house is gone long term, than our recruits probably have been communicated that. Or more likely is he will be back.

Signing day for December has been a disaster for the NCAA. They need to go back to the original signing day and get rid of the December signing day

It’s happened a bunch of times where position coaches and other coaches were fired after signing day. I do agree that if there is going to be a change then the current recruits are probably aware of what’s going on.

If I was a coach on napiers staff I’d bail that sinking ship by any means possible

This is part of the reason the transfer portal exists. Coaches could leave or be fired and the athletes had to stay put.

Remember when Deion said these HS kids don’t know what commitment means?

If a HS kid committed about a week ago and then flipped “frick that bag chaser”
